(BOISE) Idaho Housing and Finance Association announces that Sheryl R. Putnam has joined the Association as the Housing Compliance and Program Support Manager.
Putnam supervises the regulatory monitoring of multi-family project-based Section 8 (HUD/PBCA), Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), and HOME funded projects across Idaho. IHFA conducts annual monitoring audits and property inspections statewide on multi-family rental housing for which it administers funding resources, or for which it is the designated monitoring agency.
Putnam has more than 19 years of experience in the affordable housing industry. Previously, she was employed as Housing Programs Manager at the Boise City/Ada County Housing Authority, where she supervised the PHA’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program and various grant programs. Prior to her work at the Housing Authority, Putnam worked at IHFA in program administration in the Section 8 Rental Assistance, Public Housing, and Tax Credit Compliance Departments.
Putnam attended Boise State University and is a graduate of the Northwest Community Development Institute. She holds many industry certifications including Public Housing Manager and Credit Compliance Professional.
She serves as Vice President of Professional Development for the Pacific Northwest Regional Council of National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. She also participated on the planning team for Mayor Bieter’s 10-year Plan to Reduce and Eliminate Homelessness, and on Governor Kempthorne’s Idaho Homelessness Coordinating Committee, developing and implementing Idaho’s Ten Year Plan to Prevent and Reduce Chronic Homelessness.
The Idaho Housing and Finance Association, a financial services and housing organization, provides funding for affordable housing in Idaho communities where they are most needed and when it is economically feasible.
