Daniel Burrus, Charlie Cook and Rebecca Ryan to headline at the Idaho Housing conference in Boise Oct 6-7
BOISE, Idaho – September 25, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Nationally recognized keynote speakers Daniel Burrus, Charlie Cook and Rebecca Ryan will be headlining at the Conference on Housing and Economic Development to be held at the Boise Centre on October 6-7.
Organized by Idaho Housing and Finance Association, the conference features speakers and workshops on timely topics of interest for professionals in or related to the housing, finance, and economic development sectors.
With over 500 planning to attend from nine states, the conference will cover topics of interest to professionals and businesses involved in mortgage finance, construction, single-family and multifamily housing, senior housing, real estate, nonprofits and government, affordable housing, homeless services and more.
Gerald M. Hunter, President of IHFA, says that the conference will examine issues critical to the future of Idaho communities, and offer practical information for industry practitioners and public policy influencers.
“We are focusing our attention on how nationally-relevant topics being discussed in housing and economic development circles will impact communities in Idaho,” he said. “Topics like millennials becoming homebuyers, smart homes, and senior housing are just a few of the issues that will have tremendous impact on businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies.”
The keynote speakers, who have appeared on a range of national media including CBS, CNN, NBC, and more, will address demographic and business trends, as well as trends in housing and economic development.
Daniel Burrus, world-renowned futurist on global trends and innovation and best-selling author of Flash Foresight and Technotrends will speak on the future of smart homes and smart cities.
“Technology is continually changing the rules of competition, rendering many traditional business strategies and processes obsolete,” Burrus says. “Identifying and understanding the challenges and opportunities that new technologies create has become a key business imperative.”
Charlie Cook, national political analyst, editor and publisher of “The Cook Political Report” and political contributor to CBS, CNN and NBC News, will also speak at the conference. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s keenest observers of U.S. elections and political trends, Cook will share his knowledge of American politics and provide insightful political analysis of the 2016 presidential election.
Rebecca Ryan, an economist, thought leader and author, will inspire attendees to think differently about what will attract and retain the next generation to their communities. The author of Live First, Work Second and ReGENERATION shares insight from interviews, focus groups and surveys of over 50,000 young, mobile professionals to identify trends within this demographic group that will shape the future.
