“Idaho’s settlement with the five largest mortgage servicers last year allowed us to extend a grant to CAPAI,” Attorney General Wasden said. “I encourage eligible Idahoans to contact CAPAI immediately to take advantage of this limited opportunity.”
“We still have nearly $94,000 available to assist Idahoans who are in transition due to foreclosure, but that funding expires on June 30,” Zamora said.
Funding is available to help defray the costs associated with moving from a foreclosure to safe and affordable housing. To receive assistance from CAPAI, Idahoans must meet CAPAI’s income restrictions and be able to keep up with ongoing rent or mortgage payments.
Examples of expenses that CAPAI’s grant may cover include:
- moving costs
- rental application fees
- credit check fees
- rent for the first and last month
- security deposits
- utility startup fees
- storage fees
- utility arrearages
The deadline to apply for funding under this program is June 30, 2013. For more information about applying for assistance, call CAPAI at (208) 3757382 ext. 14. Information also is available on CAPAI’s website at www.idahocommunityaction.org and on the Attorney General’s website.
