WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 17, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — BOISE, IDAHO — Jan. 16, 2014 — Fourth District Court Judge Lynn G. Norton has ordered a Mountain Home couple to file Idaho tax returns for six years in which their reported income totaled more than $360,000.
Judge Norton issued an order to compel Bryan and Jan Savage to file tax returns for 2006 through 2011. The couple has until Jan. 17 to comply with the judge’s order.
Court files show that the Savages had income of at least $69,073 for 2006; $61,973 for 2007; $57,247 for 2008; $59,806 for 2009; $55,661 for 2010; and $58,264 for 2011.
The couple hasn’t filed individual income tax returns since 1995, according to Idaho State Tax Commission records. The Tax Commission brought administrative action against the Savages on two separate occasions for failing to file their returns for years 1996-2001 and 2002-2005.
“Our goal is to get everyone to file their tax returns as the law requires,” said Tax Commission Chairman Rich Jackson. “Our job is to bring nonfilers in line to keep the system fair for the majority of taxpayers who do the right thing on their own.”
The Tax Commission is represented in this case by Deputy Attorney General William von Tagen.
