NAMPA, ID – November 16, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Nampa residents are benefiting from newly rehabilitated affordable housing at Galway Apartments. Tomlinson & Associates is celebrating the grand reopening of this 56-unit complex with an open house from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 on site at Galway Apartments, 2201 W. Karcher Road. A ribbon cutting will be held at 3 p.m., followed by tours of the units and the new clubhouse throughout the afternoon and evening.

Rehabilitation of the development, formerly known as Claremont Apartments, began in May 2010. Renovations included the addition of forced air heating and cooling, increasing units’ energy efficiency by adding insulation, new doors, windows, and upgrading lighting and appliances. Three units were made handicapped accessible, and ramps, sidewalks, and accessible carports and garages were added to increase overall accessibility in the development. It is now easier for residents to walk to retailers nearby with the addition of new sidewalks. Washers, dryers, and microwave range hoods were added to every unit during the renovation, as was additional access to cable and satellite systems. Residents benefit from a new clubhouse, an office with a fitness center, and a new playground, as well as carports and storage lockers for each unit and a covered bicycle storage area.

“Residents are thrilled with the renovations,” said Jim Tomlinson of Tomlinson & Associates. “The new amenities are a welcome addition to these centrally located affordable apartments.”

There are currently six units available for rent at Galway Apartments. Residents must meet income requirements to qualify. Those seeking information about becoming a tenant can contact the site manager at (208) 467-1485, or visit www.housingidaho.com.

Boise Housing Corporation is the owner of Galway Apartments, and management is provided by Tomlinson & Associates. Thomas Development provided development services and renovations were completed by JRG Construction. Idaho Housing and Finance Association allocated $1.12 million in funding through the Tax Credit Assistance Program, and KeyBank was an investor in the project.
