DR. JOHN RUSCHE OF LEWISTON NAMED TO IDAHO WATER RESOURCE BOARD

(BOISE) – (RealEstateRama) — Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter announced the appointment today of Dr. John Rusche, a former minority leader in the Idaho House of Representatives, to fill the unexpired term of Charles “Chuck” Cuddy of Orofino on the Idaho Water Resource Board.

Rusche, a retired Lewiston pediatrician and former six-term Democrat member of the House, will serve on the Water Resource Board until January 2019. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the Idaho Senate. Cuddy, originally appointed in January 2007, recently announced he was stepping down from the eight-member board.

“Idaho’s water is important for the health and vitality of our communities. It also is one of the major assets upon which future economic development will depend,” said Rusche, former chief medical officer for Regence BlueShield of Idaho and a current board member for the YourHealthIdaho insurance exchange. “My community depends on Idaho waters for transportation and recreation. Growth and development requires that science and sound political processes be applied in creative ways to meet our needs going forward. I think I can help.”

“John Rusche has been a reasonable and constructive partner in developing public policies that work for the people of Idaho. I know he will continue to burnish that enviable record in this new assignment,” Governor Otter said. “I admire and appreciate his willingness to serve by bringing his expertise and civic virtue to bear on some of our most significant resource issues.”
