IHFA to Oversee Federal Housing Compliance for 18,623 Section 8 Apartment Units
BOISE, ID – July 8, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) was awarded the administration of four Project Based Contract Administration (PBCA) contracts by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Last year, IHFA performed PBCA monitoring on 3,362 apartment units in Idaho. With the new contracts, IHFA will now monitor an additional 15,261 units.
These federal contracts are to perform administration work for the Section 8 program that includes conducting audits and inspections of rental housing communities and ensuring compliance with HUD requirements.
“With 11 years of experience performing these tasks and working together with HUD and multifamily owners and agents in the state of Idaho, IHFA has positioned itself as a strong, well respected organization within the industry,” said Gerald Hunter, IHFA’s president and executive director.
Thanks to the additional contracts, IHFA will immediately open and recruit for approximately 28 housing compliance employment positions located in its Boise offices.
“IHFA is pleased to have been selected to expand our Housing Compliance business services through this competitive bid. This opportunity will impact the local economy by creating new jobs that will be open immediately,” said Hunter.
All portfolios IHFA applied for had similar urban and rural demographics, areas in which IHFA has extensive experience.
Effective Oct. 1, 2011, IHFA’s Housing Compliance team will work with property owners and managers to ensure that all qualifying households are provided with decent, safe, and sanitary housing, according to HUD standards.
