September 1, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Idaho Partners for Homebuyer Education, Inc. (IPHBE), welcomes Heather Harrison as Finally Home!® Homebuyer Education/Counseling Administrator. Harrison administrates the Finally Home!® classes held across the state in partnership with regional training partners, and the English and Spanish classes available online. Harrison will also coordinate the free statewide housing counseling program that Idaho Housing and Finance Association offers to Idahoans who have questions about meeting their mortgage payment, rental issues, reverse mortgage, or credit counseling before purchasing a home.

In addition to discussing all the steps necessary to purchase a home, Finally Home!® courses cover budgeting and credit issues, predatory lending, and steps to take if a homeowner is facing foreclosure. Included in this program is one-on-one counseling provided by regional training partners for individuals seeking assistance on reverse mortgages, rental issues, and mortgage default.

“Heather’s expertise will help us to continue to educate first-time homebuyers on the crucial steps they need to take prior to purchasing a home and to address the increasing need for housing counseling across the state,” said Steve Rector, IPHBE President.

Formerly, Harrison was the Executive Officer at the Nampa Association of REALTORS® for three years. Prior to that, she worked at the Ada County Association of REALTORS®. She holds a bachelor’s in Communication and Sociology from the University of Montana, and is currently pursuing a master’s in Public Administration at Boise State University.

Finally Home!® classes are held across Idaho. To view a complete schedule, or to learn about taking the course online, visit www.finallyhomeidaho.com. Classes are accessible to Spanish-speakers through a Spanish textbook and through a DVD course available for viewing at regional training partners statewide. The fee for the classroom course, or to view a DVD of the Spanish course, is $10 per student. The online course fee is $50.

For more information on Finally Home!®, including a class schedule, information about online classes in English and Spanish, and how to give to the program, visit www.finallyhomeidaho.com.
