Gruber joins Idaho Housing and Finance Association as grant programs manager

BOISE, ID – January 19, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) announces that James M. Gruber has joined the Association as grant programs manager.

Gruber oversees various funding sources IHFA administers through its grant programs department, including special needs programs, the HOME program, and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). He also oversees the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). He works to ensure that all grants administered by IHFA meet internal standards of program efficiency and administrative accuracy, and works to ensure timely and accurate distribution of funds. He is responsible for sub-grantee training and customer relations, regulatory compliance and project compliance, periodic consolidated planning, and annual reporting to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as required.

Prior to joining IHFA, Gruber served as CFO for Sage Community Resources, an economic development association of the cities and counties of southwest Idaho, where he planned and administered grants and ran the revolving loan program for member counties. He oversaw the organization’s administration, finances, and human resources.

Gruber holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and organizational management from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and has completed coursework towards his executive MBA at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a certified grant administrator for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for HUD. Gruber serves on the board for the Eagle sewer district.
