WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 3, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Eleven Pocatello-area REALTORS® will be honored for connecting homebuyers to affordable home loans through Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA). In the past two years, they and other REALTORS® in the area have helped 289 homebuyers purchase homes with Idaho Housing Home Loans worth more than $30.5 million.

Tami Fairchild (Gold Award) of Heartland Real Estate, Gail Bishard (Silver) of Premier Properties Real Estate Co., and Andrew Hasselbring (Bronze) of RE/MAX Preferred Properties, represented the most Pocatello-area buyers who purchased homes using Idaho Housing’s Home Loan program. They will be among the 75 REALTORS® and Bank of Idaho, IHFA’s top lending partner in the area, honored at the biennial Saluting Top Area REALTORS® (STAR) awards luncheon on April 3 in Pocatello.

“By reducing borrowing costs and offering down payment assistance, IHFA has worked with REALTORS® to help 10,000 families in the Pocatello area attain affordable homes in the past 40 years,” IHFA Vice President of Homeownership Lending Susan Semba said. “We’re proud that we’ve been able to invest more than
$600 million in the area.”

IHFA provides affordable mortgage financing to creditworthy Idahoans with low to moderate incomes. To date, the organization has invested more than $6.5 billion to help more than 80,000 families around the state. An important part of that investment is a robust homebuyer education program that has helped more than 26,500 future Idaho homeowners.
