Investment helps with continuation of services for homebuyer education across Idaho

BOISE, ID – December 7, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Idaho Partners for Homebuyer Education, Inc. (IPHBE, Inc.), today announced that its Finally Home!® Homebuyer Education Program has received $5,000 in operating support from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.

“Education and empowerment for homeowners are an important component of helping our communities achieve effective, long-term economic stability,” said Kurt Walsdorf, Idaho and Eastern Washington market president for Bank of America. “The Finally Home program has a proven track record of success, and we’re proud to support IPHBE and invest in the vitality of our neighborhoods by getting first-time homebuyers off to a successful start.”

The funds will be used to assist Finally Home!® with its operating expenses, such as reimbursement of the training partners, as well as costs for printing and distribution of the homebuyer education textbooks statewide. In 2010, 2,520 people took the class, and more than 26,000 Idahoans have graduated from the Finally Home! ® program since it began in 1999.

“By attending the class, participants are given a roadmap of the home buying process. This road map helps provide potential homebuyers with cost saving tips and may even help them qualify for grants and assistance programs,” said Heather Bowman, Finally Home!® Homebuyer Education/Counseling administrator. “The financial support from Bank of America has allowed us to reach out to low and moderate first-time homebuyers across Idaho, contributing to the program’s success.”

Finally Home! ® eight-hour classes are offered statewide by regional training partners in Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, Lewiston, Boise, Caldwell, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Nampa and Idaho Falls. Users can also access the online classes by visiting www.finallyhomecourse.com. In addition to covering all the steps necessary to purchase a home, the Finally Home! ® class also covers budgeting and credit issues, predatory lending, and steps to help homeowners retain their purchase.
