$2,500 contribution from American West Bank helps Home Partnership Foundation prevent homelessness

COEUR D’ALENE, ID – August 26, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — The Home Partnership Foundation, brought to you by Idaho Housing and Finance Association, was recently awarded a $2,500 contribution from AmericanWest Bank. These funds are being directed by St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho, allowing them to help more North Idaho families on the brink of homelessness through the H.E.L.P. Center located at 201 E. Harrison Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.

“This donation will help meet a great need at a time when many Idaho families are confronting homelessness for the first time,” said Deanna Ward, Home Partnership Foundation development director. “Generous donations from the community such as this grant from AmericanWest Bank allow us to assist people throughout Idaho build a strong foundation for their lives through stable, safe, and affordable housing.”

This past year alone, the Foundation—the state’s only 501(c)(3) housing foundation dedicated to helping those in need—granted $735,000 to support homeless shelters, provide financial counseling and budgeting skills to prevent and avoid foreclosure and eviction actions, and to help qualified individuals purchase homes.

“Homelessness is surging here in Kootenai County and it will require a collective community effort to turn the tides, which is why we are assisting important organizations like Home Partnership Foundation,” said Pat Braddock, AmericanWest Bank North Idaho Regional Manager. “I am so impressed with the H.E.L.P. Center—they are making a true impact by providing a lifeline to local families.”

AmericanWest Bank is a community bank with a growing customer-base in the Coeur d’Alene-Hayden area. Headquartered in Spokane, the bank has nine financial centers in North Idaho and 58 locations overall in Idaho, Washington, and Utah.
