One of the most well-attended housing conferences in the Northwest, this event draws hundreds of professionals from the housing and economic development fields and related industries.

BOISE, Idaho – August 20, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Registration is now open for the 2015 Conference on Housing and Economic Development to be held at the Boise Centre October 6-7.

The conference draws hundreds of professionals from all corners of the housing and economic development sectors every three years, including mortgage finance, construction, single-family and multifamily housing, senior housing, real estate, nonprofits and government, affordable housing and more.

Organized by Idaho Housing and Finance Association, the conference will provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss relevant and timely topics of lasting impact with industry influencers.
Gerald M. Hunter, President of IHFA, says that the housing conference will examine issues critical to the future of the housing and economic development industries.

“We want to focus attention on how nationally-relevant topics being discussed in housing and economic development circles will impact communities in Idaho, and other regions in the Northwest,” he said. “Topics like millennials becoming homebuyers, smart homes, and senior housing are just a few of the issues that will have tremendous impact on businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies.”

The keynote speakers, nationally recognized from appearances on CBS, CNN, NBC, and more, will address trends and trending topics in housing and economic development.

Daniel Burrus, a futurist on global trends and innovation and best-selling author of “Flash Foresight” and “Technotrends,” will present a keynote speech on smart homes and cities.
Charlie Cook, national political analyst, editor and publisher of “The Cook Political Report” and political contributor to CBS, CNN and NBC News, will speak about the political climate and what it might mean for the housing industry.

Rebecca Ryan, a thought leader, economist and author of “Live First, Work Second” and “ReGENERATION,” will inspire attendees to think differently about attracting the next generation to their communities.

In addition to the keynotes, the workshops scheduled throughout the conference will focus on important topics such as attracting business to the state, homelessness and housing, smart homes and cities, TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID), Fair Housing, tiny homes, nonprofits and board development, lending, business marketing and more.
