$6,000 contributed to Finally Home! Homebuyer Education
BOISE, ID - December 21, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Wells Fargo Foundation recently contributed $6,000 to the Finally Home!® Homebuyer Education Program administered by the Idaho Partners for Home Buyer Education, Inc. (IPHBE, Inc.). In total, Wells Fargo has contributed $100,000 to the program, $5,000 of which was dedicated to translation of the course textbook into Spanish.
“Making smart credit decisions, particularly when it comes to purchasing a home, is more important than ever in today’s economy,” said Dana Reddington, Idaho Region president for Wells Fargo. “Wells Fargo is pleased to support IPHBE’s Finally Home!® program, which provides valuable education for first-time homebuyers.”
These funds will be used to assist Finally Home!® with its operating expenses, such as reimbursement of the training partners, as well as costs of printing and distribution of the homebuyer education textbooks statewide.
“Wells Fargo’s financial support has helped us reach more first-time homebuyers across Idaho, and made it possible for us to provide this important information to Idaho’s Spanish-speaking population,” said Heather Harrison, Finally Home!® Homebuyer Education/Counseling Administrator. “Loan officers from Wells Fargo have also served as volunteer instructors for our classroom program. Their continued participation in the Finally Home!® program contributes to our success.”
Finally Home!® eight-hour classes are offered statewide by regional training partners in Coeur d’Alene, Sandpoint, Lewiston, Boise, Caldwell, Twin Falls, Pocatello, and Idaho Falls. Online classes are available in both English and Spanish at www.finallyhomeidaho.com. In addition to covering all the steps necessary to purchase a home, the Finally Home!® course also covers budgeting and credit issues, predatory lending, and steps to take if a homeowner is facing foreclosure. More than 22,000 Idahoans have graduated from the Finally Home!® program since it began in 1999.
